Sugar manufacturer Tongaat Hulett is determined to recover R450-million in civil damages from former executives.
This follows after a forensic investigation by professional services firm PwC found that certain senior executives had allegedly initiated or participated in questionable accounting practices, which resulted in the company’s profits being overstated over a number of years.
