Massmart says half-year sales in line with 2021 half-year figures

JSE-listed retailer Massmart, in a trading statement, said total group sales for the 26-week period to June 26, amounted to R41.3-billion, broadly in line with the same period in 2021. Sales from continuing operations, which excludes Cambridge, Rhino and Massfresh, amounted to R38.1-billion, which is an increase of 1.9% over the prior comparable period, with comparable store sales from continuing operations increasing by 4.3%.
