At least five tenders for the upgrade of the N3 and N2 highways in KwaZulu-Natal will go out before the end of South African National Road Agency Limited’s (Sanral’s) current financial year, Sanral Eastern Region design, planning and construction manager Ravi Ronny told a business briefing roadshow at Durban’s King’s Park Stadium on Thursday. Due to the length and estimated R30-billion cost of both upgrades, the corridor has been split into a number of detailed design and construction packages each valued at about R1-billion.
